Controlled Hunts

In 2021 Cherokee Nation hosted its first-ever controlled deer hunts at the Sequoyah County Hunting Preserve. Youth, elders, veterans, and at-large tribal citizens entered and were selected in a random draw and had the opportunity to harvest a whitetail deer.

Applications for hunting on the preserve will be open in late summer 2022. If you are interested in applying for the controlled hunt program you can submit your application through the Gadugi Portal.
